2015 - NaNoWriMo is here - How to NaNoWriMo
Na - National
No - Novel
Wri - Writing
Mo - Month
NaNoWriMo has taken the world by storm in recent years and nearly every country seems to have at least some writers hopeful of achieving that stomach churning goal of writing 50,000 words in the month of November.
As this map shows, on the 1st of November 2015, there are already thousands of people keen to take part.
Go along to Nanowrimo.org and sign up if you haven't already.
There you are able to visit the forums, enter details about your novel, and add friends and track your progress for the month.
They have merchandise if you are into that sort of thing, and above all, plenty of advice about writing and finishing a novel in a month.
You can be a pantser (writing by the seat of your pants) or a planner.
You can get creative or even rebel and do your own thing.
But what sort of novel could someone write in a month? What's the point?
How about 14-published-novels-written-during-nanowrimo
NYT bestsellers, Prize winners and Famous films!
And what's the point?
Well its fun (the sort of fun you have on a diet or a really strict exercise regime!). There is a real sense of community - even from across the globe and the forums are full of people showcasing their successes or groaning about their failures and other people cheering them on to do it.
You might love it!
